South Rowan Y Service Club

Serving the local area since 1988

The South Rowan Y Service Club celebrated its 21st anniversary in May 2009. The club is affiliated with the YMCA of the Rowan County - J. Fred Corriher, Jr. branch. Our major fundraiser is our annual Truck Give-Away Project that is in conjunction with China Grove Farmer's Day. This event is always held on the third Saturday in July. When you see a fundraiser sponsored by the South Rowan Y Service Club you will know that the money raised will go towards projects that will benefit your community.

Our Purpose... to be a worldwide fellowship of persons of all faiths working together in mutual respect and affection, based on Christian values, and with a common loyalty to the Young Men’s Christian Association, striving through active service to develop, encourage and provide leadership to build a better world for all mankind.

Our Character... the Y Service Club is specifically oriented to leadership and service within the YMCA and the communities served by the Y. The club provides opportunities to cultivate good fellowship and keep members informed on, and actively involved in civic, economic and social matters. The South Rowan Y Service Club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at the J. Fred Corriher, Jr. YMCA (Dinner is included).

Our Objectives...

  • To function primarily as a service club for the YMCA.
  • To support other worthy organizations.
  • To encourage justice in civil and inter- national affairs, abstaining always from party politics.
  • To keep members informed on, and actively involved in religious, civic, economic, social and international matters.
  • To cultivate good fellowship.
  • To support International, Area and Regional projects of the Association.
