SWIMMING LESSONS
Classes offered for parent/child, preschool, youth and adult.
Members may register two weeks before each session starts.
Non-members may register one week before. Check with Member Services Desk or on-line enrollment page of this site for scheduled classes and times and to register for lessons.
Class Descriptions and Schedules:
Parent/Child: 6 months-3 years, children must wear rubber pants and be accompanied by an adult. Course introduces child to water through play.
4:00-4:30PM
Pike: 3-5 years, beginner skills, no previous experience.
4:30-5:15PM
Eel: 3-5 years, no fear of the water, child can swim the length of the pool comfortably with float belt.
5:30-6:15PM
Ray: 3-5 years, child can swim the length of the pool comfortably without a float belt.
6:00-6:45PM
Starfish: 3-5 years, child can swim the length of the pool comfortably without a float belt and will learn creative skill. 6:00-6:45PM

Polliwog: 6-12 years, no previous swimming experience.
4:30-5:15PM
Guppy: 6-12 years, can swim any style one length of the pool.
5:15-6:00PM
Minnow: 6-12 years, can swim one length of the pool using front crawl.
6:00-6:45PM
Fish/Flying Fish: 6-12 years, can swim front crawl two lengths, back crawl two lengths, elementary backstroke two lengths, breaststroke kick two lengths, and dolphin kick one length.

Shark: 6-12 years, can swim butterfly two lengths, breaststroke two lengths, individual medley two lengths, and underwater swimming 30 feet. 6:00-6:45PM

PRIVATE LESSONS: Ages 3 and up. Cost per 30 minute lesson is $15 for members and $30 for potential members. Call the Aaron Crowe, Aquatics Director at 704-857-7011 to set up.
ADULT INSTRUCTION: 16 years old and up. Structured around the participants experience.7:30-8:15PM.
SESSIONS: Classes will meet 2 days (Monday and Wednesday- Ages 3-5/ Tuesday and Thursday Ages 6-12)
Members $38 a session and Potential Members $74 a session

WATER AEROBICS
Develops or maintains cardiovascular respiratory (heart, blood vessels, and lungs) fitness and endurance, flexibility, muscular strength and coordination. The exercise begins with stretching warm-up, progressing through aerobic exercise, strength and flexibility activity and concludes with a cool down relaxer.

LIFE GUARDING CLASS
American Red Cross Lifeguard certification offered upon successful completion of six week course. CPR and First Aid are a part of this course. Program fee includes books, rescue masks, certifications and cards.

April 14 thru May 24, 2010 (Monday & Wednesday 6-9 p.m.)
Class Fee: $155 YMCA Members / $185 Potential Members.
